CRUX is committed to making the sport of rock climbing accessible to all members of our community.

Since 2011, CRUX has provided free and low-cost programming for at-risk and homeless LGBTQ youth. By eliminating financial obstacles, we aim to provide opportunities for youth to increase their mental and physical health through rock climbing while also encouraging our adult members to volunteer and get involved.

Our current partners and programs include:

The Ali Forney Center

Our mission is to protect LGBTQ youth from the harm of homelessness, and to support them in becoming safe and independent as they move from adolescence to adulthood.

CRUX provides free group programming and individualized coaching for Ali Forney Center youth. We are able to do this through the generous support of NYC climbing gyms and the countless hours of volunteer time donated by CRUX members.

Since 2010 CRUX has also raised over $1,400 for the Ali Forney Center.
